Ubuntu - No Globe in Google Earth

There is a little bug in Google Earth Version 4.3
If you run Linux Ubuntu Hardy Heron there will be no Globe.
There are a few simple Steps to get it working:

1. Righclick Applications and choose "Edit Menus"
2. Click on Internet and in the right Window click on Google Earth.
3. Simply add "gksu" to the command line

How to clean your Keyboard

My Keyboard must be almost 10 years old and it looked really awful. All you need is a Screwdriver to lift the keys. So yesterday I removed all Keys and washed them in the Sink with some water and soap. It's a good idea to take a picture of your Keyboard before you remove the Keys, otherwise you wont find the right spot for all Keys. Once you remove the Keys you will be able to remove all the Dust and Koffee etc. Voila, now my Keyboard looks like a brand new one. Image Image Image

Blendtec Mixers can blend almost anything. I wonder if they can blend Tom Cruise.

Browser Speeds

On my XP System I'm using Firefox 90% and sometimes Opera. On my Kubuntu Linux System I also use Firefox most of the Time.
Firefox doesn't seem to be the fastest Browser, but it WORKS with everything. I just installed Opera on Linux and it does not play embedded .wmv Files.
I really am not in the mood to waste a day to figure out this Problem, so i will stick with Firefox and Konqueror. But Opera is the fastest Browser, no matter if you're a Mac, Windows or Linux user.

BTW, I've installed Safari on my XP 2 days ago. Don't know what's so special about it.
ALL Browsers are better than Internet Explorer, so saying my Browser is better than IE is
like saying "Our yogurt contains less fat than Butter".

Today I was getting an email from my old Travel mate whom I met when I traveled in Australia back in 2001. He is in Thailand now and 'm quite jealous. Unfortunately I've never had the opportunity to hit the road again.

Google.de went down

I've just read that google.de, the german Google Site went down yesterday, because another Company named goneo.de registered it. Google probably forgot to pay the Registration Fee. This may sound funny to People who own a .com Domain, but in Germany they have a pretty fucked up Registration System.

If another Person registers an existing Domain, the current owner gets a notice about that. If the old owner does not reply within 5 Business Day it's a done deal. Exactly the same thing happened already in 2004 with ebay.de, the German Ebay Platform.

It is more complicated to Transfer a Domain in Germany, but stealing a Domain seems to be much easier.

Transferring a .com Domain is so much easier. I just did that with couchblogging. I switched to godaddy, because I have all my Domains there. I just requested a Transfer at godaddy, then I logged into my old Registrar, unlocked the Domain and requested a Auth Code. Then I logged into godaddy and entered the Code. Done !!!

Easier and faster, but safer.
